Our hotel is the only hotel in Aitoliko!
It started operating decades before Mr. Giannis. His mother was called Alexandra. He named the hotel after her. When the hotel passed into the hands of Mr. Giorgos, of course, it did not change its name. And Mr. Giannis, until he passed away, would come on his bicycle and sit in the hotel cafeteria. Every day without fail.
And that’s how we met “Alexandra”. Drinking our sunny coffees at the kiosk, for many years.
Since August 2020, “Alexandra” has officially become a member of our family. We have taken on three Aetolian sisters to beautify her even more and bring her closer to us.
With joy and determination, we embraced our dream and created a space that welcomes you like your home.

Aitoliko: The Island of the Lagoon
Aitoliko is a picturesque town, built on an island in the middle of the Aitoliko-Messolongi lagoon. It is connected to the mainland by two beautiful, 300-meter-long stone bridges, known to the locals as “giofyria”.
The area belongs to the Aitoliko-Messolongi Lagoon National Park, a rare ecosystem with rich flora and fauna, ideal for bird watching and nature walks.
Messolonghi: 10 Minutes Away from Aitoliko
Messolonghi, the capital of the prefecture, is a place full of history. Here you will visit the Garden of Heroes, the Salt Museum, the Art Gallery and the Palamas and Trikoupi houses.
The organization “Messolonghi by Locals” offers unique experiences and activities that highlight the culture and natural environment of the region.
Culture and History
Aitoliko has given birth to important people of letters and arts, such as the writer I.M. Panagiotopoulos and the engraver Vasso Katraki. In honor of the latter, the only Engraving Museum in Europe was created, with over 500 of her works.
The Folklore Museum of Aitoliko offers a glimpse into the traditional way of life, while the area is home to important archaeological sites such as the Ancient Theater of Oeniades and the Roman Baths of Agios Thomas.
